There's tons of other options you can add to your Toughbook that are not offered from Panasonic that you can pick up at your local big box/brick and mortar store. 

When you're in the field for long periods of time you might consider picking up the External Battery Charger and a Spare Main Battery. You can also add a Battery to the same bay the CDRom sits in, but you can not use both the CDRW and Battery in the same bay at the same time. Some folks use the 2nd Bay Battery option when powering down is not an option.

With the Toughbook 30 you have many integrated options to choose from. Gobi 3G allows you to connect with Verizon, Sprint or AT&T to access the internet.
